Your money is yours until a session actually takes place — and even then, only the exact amount for that session.
Most tutoring platforms ask you to buy a package of sessions upfront — five lessons, ten lessons, a monthly bundle. These packages frequently come with expiry dates: unused sessions vanish after 30 or 90 days, regardless of why you didn't use them. Your tutor went on vacation. You got sick. Life happened. The platform keeps your money.
Subscriptions create the same problem from a different angle: you're billed monthly whether you book sessions or not. Miss a month and you've paid for nothing.
EasyLang works differently. There are no packages and no subscriptions. You add funds when you need them and use them when you're ready.
Every payment on EasyLang flows through an escrow process. Here's exactly what happens with your money at each step:
You add funds to your wallet
Your balance sits in your EasyLang wallet. Nothing is charged or deducted until you actively book a session.
You book a session — the amount is reserved
When you confirm a booking, the exact cost of that session is reserved from your balance. It's set aside — not charged, not transferred. The tutor can see the reservation, but cannot access the funds yet.
The session takes place
You and your tutor meet for your session.
Payment is released to the tutor
After the session is confirmed as completed, the reserved amount is transferred to the tutor's wallet. The platform fee is deducted at this point — not before.
Everything else stays in your wallet
Any balance that isn't reserved for an upcoming session is fully yours. You can use it to book another session or withdraw it at any time — no questions asked.
What happens if a session is cancelled?
If a confirmed session is cancelled within the applicable policy window, the reserved amount is released back to your available wallet balance immediately. You can use it for another booking or withdraw it — your choice.
You pay only for sessions that actually happen. Your remaining balance never expires, is never locked to a specific tutor, and is never used without a confirmed session as its reason.
You can top up your wallet whenever it suits you — there's no minimum commitment. If you stop using EasyLang, your remaining balance is available for withdrawal. We don't hold onto it.
Tutors benefit too: the escrow system means they receive payment reliably for every completed session, with no risk of chargebacks after the fact. A predictable income is one of the things that lets tutors focus on teaching rather than chasing payments.
